This 16th edition of the European OWS Cup will consist of 5 Legs where swimmers will accumulate points (20, 17, 15, 14, etc.) and the FINAL where they will earn double the amount (40, 34, 30, 28, etc.) as mentioned in Cup-OW 3.1.2. Competitors may compete in all six Cup Events. 

The best results achieved in three legs shall be considered for the General Classification. And to be considered within the General Classification, a competitor must participate in at least three legs and in the Final. In case of a tie in the General Classification, the result of the Final will be decisive.

PRIZE MONEY (21.000 Euro) will be distributed among the top 5 swimmers in the women’s and men’s categories as follows:

General Classification: 1st 3500€; 2nd 3000€; 3rd 2000€; 4th 1250€; 5th 750€.

- The 2012 edition of the European OWS Cup will consist of these 4 Legs.
- Swimmers’ best results in two legs will be considered in the General Classification.
- To be in the General Classification, a competitor must participate in at least two legs.
- The fourth leg will coincide with the 10km European OWS Championships men’s and women’s races during the Piombino 2012 - European OWS Championships (September 12th to 16th).
- To compete in this fourth leg, swimmers must have participated in at least one of the three previous legs.
- Federations will be allowed to enter participants in the fourth leg beyond the 3-swimmer limit that corresponds to the European OWS Championships regulation as long as these entered participants have already participated in at least one of the three previous legs.
 
Prize money (14.000 Euro) will be distributed among the top 5 swimmers in the women’s and men’s categories as follows:
 
General Classification
1st => 2500€
2nd => 2000€
3rd => 1250€
4th => 750€
5th => 500€
